Work began on this book in 1989, when members of the Doraville Library's History Committee determined that Doraville's history should be written. Much of what we have gathered has come from old newspaper clippings, saved without the dateline or name of the publication. Much has come from the recollection of people who have lived in Doraville for many years. In some cases, accounts varied. We have done our best to be accurate, but there inevitably will be errors and omissions. This we regret. 
Everything we have learned backs up the City's motto that Doraville is, and always has been, "A Good Place to Live."
